These two images were concepts for a sculpture series that I was thinking about but have (as yet) not done. They are intended to be constructed out of small clay bricks, and completed with wooden slat decks and fine fabric "sails" suitably aged.
I made the bricks some years ago, and spent some time building structures like this (as best I could without mortaring them together). The results were quite good, but I found that just playing with the bricks and building these structures was a lot of fun in itself...especially smashing them down again at the end of the potter/ceramics session. I think this probably explains why I never completed one.
